We had clinic again this morning in hopes of her having chemo treatment but her platelets were still too low. She winded up having a blood transfusion because her hemoglobin went down from Fridays blood work. We had a nurse come in last night and set Dariana up with I.V. Fluids to have her well hydrated. The nurse showed me how to change the bags and work the pump and also flush her lines and put heparin in after I removed the lines from her this morning prior to heading down to Columbia for radiation and clinic. All that, which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, an she didn't have her chemo. We will have to do it all over again Thursday for chemo on Friday so at least I am prepared. She is having this chemo treatment done as outpatient because she cannot get the chemo she is given on the second day of this cycle of chemo. It will worsen the effects of the radiation and there is also a certain amount of that particular chemo. So instead of staying overnight at the hospital she can sleep in her own bed and we can do everything at home. We only have 5 more radiation treatments and then she will be down to the home stretch. The treatment on Friday will be #9 that leaves 5 more then some more radiation to the upper areas and that's it. Please keep those prayers going, you all have been amazing and has helped is get through a parents worst nightmare. We cannot thank you enough!!! Faith, Hope, and Encouragement!
