Ok so CT scan, chest X-ray and bloods are friday! We are a month and a half over due for scans due to this weather. Please pray no snow and clear results! She came down with a bad cough on Monday, hoping it's nothing but a cough. I'm glad we have scans this week so it can confirm its just a cough.... Nothing is just a cold or a sneeze anymore, I always begin to think the worst... Crazy but true.. Please send prayers for normal scans!! Thank you... Hope, Faith and Encouragement!
It is World CANCER Day, please say a prayer for all those fighting to beat it, all those who won the fight to stay healthy and cancer free, and for all those who gained their wings, that their families have found peace
Needless to say we did not travel down for her scans... This is killing me but better safe than sorry! Waiting to hear back as to when they will reschedule her scans... Will let everyone know. Be safe out there if you must be out there! Thank you for your support as always! Hope, Faith and Encouragement!
Well we are going to "attempt" to go for her scans tomorrow. We had an appointment last Monday but the snow ruined that and it seems like it may just ruin us going down tomorrow. One year and 3 months since she officially completed all treatments. She finished chemo August 30,2013 but then had radiation which she completed October 25,2013. It's bad enough when it comes to this time but to keep having to put it off makes it ten times worse. She is doing great and getting ready for junior prom and colleges, which I am totally not ready for but I am just grateful she is here to experience it. So as I always ask please keep her in your prayers and thoughts that she will continue to be CANCER FREE!!! She is also looking into eating healthier, she is a very picky eater and doesn't like any vegetables or fruits! If anyone has any suggestions that she might try that doesn't taste "healthy" but is healthy please let me know. We are willing to try anything.... Thanks as always for your support! Below is pic of her before, during and after treatment... She has come a long way, so proud of her motivation and determination!! Hope, Faith and Encouragment!
Well I know it has been a very long time since I have posted but last year was a busy year (In a good way). Thankfully I can say that Dariana is doing extremely well. She has been working really hard in school. She is getting all of her information together to choose which colleges she would like to go visit. She had decided that she wants to become a Nurse Practitioner. She volunteered over the summer but it winded up bringing in a lot of anxiety. So we decided baby steps to get to her goal of being in a hospital other than for her being treated for Cancer. You don't realize how much is really on your mind about the whole sickness and treatment. You are so busy each day trying to move forward and as soon as you think you are past something smacks you in the face and says that you really will never get past it. It may be stuck in the back of your mind but it is always there. She has been CANCER FREE for one year and two months. She goes for her scans this month but not until she goes to Atlantis and finally gets to enjoy her Make A Wish Trip. She wants to swim with the Dolphins so we will be doing that. We are excited to get away... When we return she will be getting her follow up scans which always brings on a little ok a lot of anxiety. For the most part I get through each day by the way Dariana is feeling. She has really been feeling good and she has been able to get back into the teenager routine. She had her EKG and Echocardiogram last month and thankfully everything looks perfect! One of the chemo she was on can cause heart issues so she has to go for yearly check ups! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and we wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year!! Hope, Faith and Encouragement always!!
On October 19 I will be inviting the Niclaus family to our fields to show them that our Admiral family will be supporting their daughter Hailey and their family during the fight our their lives. Hailey is a 3 year old amazing little girl and our family met them at Columbia Presbyterian while our daughter was fighting Ewings Sarcoma. Hailey has relapsed with AML- Acute Myeloid Leukemia. I am asking for families to please donate a baked good so that we can have a bake sale. I am also asking local companies to donate items to raffle off. All of the money will be given to the Niclaus family to help them pay for all the bills that continue to come while they wait for a miracle. I will ask each team to fight their hardest that day and show the Niclaus family we won't ever give up for them and for all the children fighting for their lives. I thank you in advance for you help and I thank the admirals board for allowing me to hold this fundraiser! Please share this so we can show the Niclaus family how much we support their fight!

Tomorrow Dariana will be going down for her CT scan and blood work and then the results of everything! She has been feeling great so I taking that as a great sign! Positive thoughts!!! Please pray we get the results we want to hear and we can officially celebrate 1 Year CANCER FREE!! Faith, Hope and Encouragement!!
Today Dariana has her 1 year post treatment PET scan! August 30 2014was her one year anniversary of finishing treatment and being cancer free! We pray she continues being cancer free! Next week she will have her CT scans and then we will receive results from both tests! Normally we get the results right away so this next week will be very stressful!! September is childhood cancer awareness so show your support and go gold for the month in hopes of a cure! Keep all the children who continue to fight this battle and all of the children who earned their wings! We pray to find a cure for this horrible disease! Faith, Hope and Encouragement!
